I love to experiment with mixing different materials and effects . This allows me to work very intuitively and also enables the viewer to delve into the picture, sit with it for a while and then find a personal response though the many layers. Many of these images have arisen from an involvement with sound and the inspirational sound weaving musicians at “Resounding Earth”. The images were set free by my forging and creation of singing bowls in different metals and in different locations and the captivating rhythms of Saba drumming in Senegal. The different textures and colours draw upon sound as well as visual influences.
